Life Happens. Sometimes you just have to write about it.

I’m lucky to have a mother and mother-in-law who know how to cook. My mom can whip up original creations at the drop of a hat and my mother-in-law’s cooking makes me want to open a restaurant and eat Indian food all day long. I love variety in food with fresh ingredients. Some food preparations, especially those of south Asia, take a lot of time to prepare authentically. And with three little ones running around, I very rarely have a few hours (yes hours) to dedicate to one meal. So, I’ve created some short-cuts and found that although it isn’t exactly my mother-in-law’s food, it comes pretty darn close and keeps me sane.

My travels are few and far between these days. But, I can always spice up life with a palate pleaser. I’ve created short stories, from friends and family, with original recipes, and time-savers alike. I know a working mom is a tired mom and just because we are tired and stressed and trying to hang on…it doesn’t mean every once in a while we can’t also eat something really tasty.

Whether it’s a little sugar or spice that I need, I wish to share the recipes that keep me going. A good meal can transport you back in time to a favorite trip or wonderful memory. It also just might give you reason to reconnect with a good friend. If you like what you see, sign up for my newsletter! I’ll be adding more regularly.

Elizabeth –congratulations on this accomplishment. I read with interest every word. I almost feel like I could taste your mother in law’s rice! What a treasure for your children! Thank you for allowing me to know you better since distance has prevented that. Wishing you much success with this endeavor.
