Life Happens. Sometimes you just have to write about it.

This could not be any easier. I love fresh broccoli and I love pecans. This adds a nice nutty crunch to broccoli and is a healthy side dish.

12 oz fresh broccoli florets

1 tablespoon butter

3 tablespoons chopped pecans, toasted

Salt and Pepper to taste.

Place broccoli in a steamer basket, cover and steam for about 4 minutes (or until crisp-tender). Plunge broccoli into ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain the broccoli.

Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat 2 -3 minutes or until melted. Add broccoli, pecans, salt, and pepper, cook, stirring gently 2-3 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

What a great idea! Thanks. I’m sure Señor Broccoli feels more attractive.
