Life Happens. Sometimes you just have to write about it.

Our son will begin Kindergarten in August. That means two of our three children will be in school. I’ve been reminiscing about when our daughter started school and found this little life snippet written in a journal. I thought I’d post a #TBT.

When she began school, she couldn’t read, write her name or add. It didn’t take long before she was trying to write words and spell.  I still remember her sweet little face, so sincerely focused on helping me this particular morning.

I needed to go to the grocery store, so I asked my daughter to write our list for me. She listened to what I needed, wrote down everything, drew a happy face and handed me the list. I looked at it, reading the list out loud, nodding at each item.

Me:  ” milk – okay good,

crooosant – good,

medeecin – good,

zip lok baggss – good,

bnanananass – okay, got it,

piggoos – huh?”

I look up at my smiling daughter and point to the word piggoos.

Me: “What does this say sweetie?”

My daughter: “Oh! It says pig goose!”

Me: “What’s a pig goose?”

My daughter: “Oh I don’t know. A pig that’s a goose I guess Mom.”

I cant remember what its supposed to be either.

I guess that’s what you get when you make your 5-year-old your personal assistant.
