We’re Going on a Bear Hunt
My daughter had an assignment to dress a paper bear up in fancy clothes and bring it back to school the next day because they had been reading the book Going on A Bear Hunt.
I dropped her off for school with her completed pirate-princess-bear. She’s my oldest and the first to go to school in our family. I am always curious about what they do all day.
At pick up, we walked hand in hand from her classroom to the car, eager to hear how her day went. I ask, “So, did you have a bear hunt today?
She looks at me sweetly and calmly explains, “Mom, I already told you all about that last year. Gosh, this is so exhausting.”
They never tell you about their day, do they?
Eliuzabeth–it never changes I had similar experiences with my son growing up. One word answers! Now my 19 year old grandson is a freshman in college. I text him giving him my love and support but really want to hear about what is going on there. My hints regarding that go undetected as I usually get , “Thanks Mom Mom. I love you too”
